Portugal D2 Program

The Portugal D2 Visa is designed for entrepreneurs who want to establish and operate a business in Portugal. It grants residency for business purposes and allows applicants to apply for permanent residency or citizenship after living in the country for five years.

Applicants can qualify for the D2 Visa through three main pathways:

Acquiring an existing Portuguese company or a stake in it
Presenting a comprehensive business plan for a new venture
Setting up a branch of their current foreign business in Portugal

There is no minimum investment requirement, but applicants must show proof of sufficient funds or an existing business to support themselves in Portugal.
The D2 Visa is initially valid for four months, during which the holder must apply for a residence permit. The initial residence permit is valid for two years and is renewable for additional three-year periods.

How to Qualify for the Portugal D2 Visa Program?
