The Portugal D7 Visa is designed for financially self-sufficient individuals who want to relocate to and live off their passive income. It grants residency and allows applicants to apply for permanent residency or citizenship after five years.
Applicants must prove a stable monthly income from outside Portugal — at least €1,000/month for the main applicant, with additional amounts required for each dependent.
The D7 Visa is initially valid for four months. During that time, the applicant must travel to Portugal and apply for a residence permit. The residence permit is issued for two years and is renewable in three-year periods.
