Over the years, the Dominican government has successfully worked to expand its list of visa-free countries. The Prime Minister of the Dominican Republic, Roosevelt Skirt, has publicized efforts in 2018 to agree on visa-free travel with the Republic of South Africa, the United Arab Emirates and China. In addition, since early 2019, Dominican passport holders can enter Russia for up to 90 days as visa-free. And since mid-May 2019, Dominican citizens can also travel to Ukraine without a visa. Visa-free travel between Dominica and the United Arab Emirates came into effect at the end of February 2021. On January 1, 2020, Uzbekistan introduced a 30-day visa-free agreement for citizens of the Commonwealth of Dominica. As countries are constantly negotiating travel agreements, a list of Dominica visa-free countries is being compiled all the time.
